Little Elephant Forgot His Water Bottle
The importance of preparing your things the day before and checking them once more before going out
💬 A Fun Field Trip Day
Today is a fun field trip day. Little Elephant puts on his backpack and smiles. “I’m off!” But oh no! His water bottle is still on the table at home.
🤔 Where is Little Elephant’s water bottle? Is it inside his backpack?
💬 Huh? My Water Bottle Is Gone!
They arrived at the park. Everyone took out their water bottles and drank. Little Elephant opened his backpack too. “Huh? My water bottle isn’t here...” Little Elephant told the teacher right away. The teacher said, “Good job telling me. Let’s make sure you don’t have to worry.”
🤔 Who was Little Elephant able to tell when he was in trouble? When you have a problem, it feels safe to tell a grown-up instead of hiding it.
💬 The Teacher and Friends Helped
The teacher prepared an extra cup and some tea. His friends kindly asked, “Are you okay?” Little Elephant drank some tea and felt relieved. “Teacher, everyone, thank you.” Little Elephant was happy to be helped, but he thought, “Next time, I will bring it properly myself.”
🤔 What did Little Elephant say when everyone helped him? It feels good to be able to say “Thank you.”
💬 Check the Day Before and in the Morning!
That night, Little Elephant got his things ready. Water bottle, check! Lunch, check! Hat, check! Handkerchief, check! The next morning, before going out, he looked in his backpack one more time. “My water bottle is in here! Now I feel safe!” When you get things ready the day before and check once more in the morning, you forget fewer things.
🤔 Before we go out, shall we check together and say, “Water bottle, check!”?
