Let’s Help the Teacher Who Became Small

One morning, when the children went to kindergarten... huh? The teacher had become small enough to fit in the palm of a hand. The children were surprised! But they did not run. They stopped right away so they would not step on the teacher.

🤔 If your teacher had become small, what would be the safe thing to do first? Run? Or stop?

“Teacher, are you okay?” everyone asked together. The teacher said in a tiny voice, “Could you carry me gently to a safe chair?” The children did not squeeze the teacher tightly. They placed the teacher on a handkerchief and carried it slowly.

🤔 When helping a tiny teacher, what kind of hands should we use? Gentle hands? Or tight squeezing hands?

When the teacher sat on the chair, everyone helped. “I’ll bring some water.” “I’ll make a little staircase with blocks.” “When we walk near the teacher, let’s walk slowly.” When everyone thought together, the teacher felt very safe.

Because everyone helped so kindly, the teacher grew bigger and bigger... Pop! The teacher returned to normal size. The teacher smiled and said, “Thank you, everyone. You didn’t panic, and you helped me gently. That was wonderful.” The children learned that when we help one another, everyone can feel safe.
