The Little Bear Who Wanted to Write
Even things you can’t do yet will gradually become possible if you practice a little every day
💬 I Want to Write My Name
Kuu the little bear wanted to try writing his own name. “I want to be able to write Kuu, too!” Kuu held the crayon tightly and faced the paper.
🤔 Kuu is excited because he wants to write his own name. How do you think it would feel to be able to write your own name?
💬 Oh No, I Can’t Write It Well
But when he tried writing it… oh no! The lines were wobbly. He couldn’t draw the round parts well either. No matter how many times he wrote it, it didn’t look like the sample. Kuu felt sad and discouraged. “Maybe I just can’t do it…”
🤔 When something doesn’t go well, it can make us feel sad. What words would you like to say to Kuu?
💬 Practice, Little by Little
Mother Bear said gently, “It’s okay if you can’t do it well from the start.” “How about practicing just a little today?” Kuu traced the dotted lines. A straight line went swoosh. A round line went loop. He practiced a little bit every day.
🤔 Kuu is practicing little by little. Is there something you became able to do by practicing little by little?
💬 I Wrote It! My Name
One day, Kuu tried writing his name again. Slowly, slowly. “K”… “uu”… He did it! Kuu’s name was written on the paper. Kuu smiled. “Even things I can’t do yet can become possible little by little if I practice!”
🤔 Kuu practiced without giving up, and now he can write his name. What would you like to practice next?
