The Bremen Town Musicians

Once upon a time, there was a donkey. The donkey had grown old, and carrying heavy loads had become difficult. But the donkey had an idea. “That’s it! I’ll go to the town of Bremen and join the band!” Clip-clop, clip-clop, the donkey set off.

🤔 What kind of sound do you think the donkey makes when he sings? Shall we try saying “hee-haw”?

As he walked along the road, the donkey met a dog. The dog had also grown old, and he ran much more slowly now. “Let’s join the band together!” Next, they met a cat and a rooster too. If we all sing together, it will surely be fun! The donkey, the dog, the cat, and the rooster became friends.

Night came. Everyone was very, very hungry. Then they saw a house with a light on in the forest. When they peeked through the window, some bad people were eating a feast. The animals talked together. “Let’s all make a big noise and surprise them!”

The donkey said, “Hee-haw!” The dog said, “Woof, woof!” The cat said, “Meow!” The rooster said, “Cock-a-doodle-doo!” The loud voices surprised the bad people, and they ran away. The animals decided to live happily together in that house. When they all sing together, this becomes the wonderful band’s home.
