August 7 is Nose Day
Young children understand that August 7 is a day to take care of their noses, and learn the role of the nose and gentle habits to help prevent illness
💬 August 7 is Nose Day
August 7 is Nose Day. It is called Nose Day because of “ha” and “na.” It is a day to think about taking good care of our noses.
🤔 Where is your nose on your face?
💬 What does the nose do?
The nose is where we smell things. We can smell flowers and the smell of food. It also becomes the pathway for air when we breathe.
🤔 What kind of smell do you like?
💬 Things we can do to protect our noses
When we come home from outside, we wash our hands. We try not to touch our noses with dirty hands. We gently wipe a runny nose with a tissue.
🤔 Before you touch your nose, are your hands clean?
💬 Tell someone when your nose feels uncomfortable
Sometimes we get a runny nose. Sometimes we sneeze or have a stuffy nose. When it feels uncomfortable, let an adult know.
🤔 If your nose is stuffy, who should you tell?
