A girl named Dorothy lived with a little dog named Toto. One day, a big wind went whoosh! Dorothy and Toto arrived in the mysterious “Land of Oz.” Dorothy said, “I want to go home.”

🤔 Dorothy came to a place she didn’t know. How do you think she felt?

Dorothy walked along the yellow road to ask how she could get home. Along the way, she met Mr. Scarecrow. Then she also met Mr. Tin Woodman and Mr. Lion. They all wanted something, too. Mr. Scarecrow wanted “cleverness,” Mr. Woodman wanted “a kind heart,” and Mr. Lion wanted “courage.”

💬 We Met Friends on the Yellow Road

🤔 Dorothy and the others became friends. If it were you, what would you say to them?

On their journey, sometimes there were troubles. But when everyone was together, it was all right. Mr. Scarecrow thought carefully. Mr. Woodman helped kindly. Mr. Lion stepped forward, even though he was scared. They already had wonderful powers inside them.

Dorothy put on the magic red shoes and said, “I want to go home.” Then Dorothy and Toto were able to go home. Dorothy thought, “Adventures with friends are wonderful. But home is important, too.”
